Spring Cleaning – The Eco Way

All-Purpose Cleaner

Ingredients:

  • One part vinegar
  • One part water
  • Lemon zest
  • Rosemary

Combine the above ingredients together, pour into a spray bottle, shake, and then let sit for a week before using. Once it’s all infused, you can use this solution to remove stains, clean bins, wipe away stains on walls, and much more. Because of the acid in the fruit, it has extra cleaning properties — perfect for stubborn stains.

Kitchen Cleaner and Deodorizer

What you’ll need:

  • 4 tablespoons baking soda
  • 1 litre warm water

To clean kitchen counters, kitchen appliances and inside your fridge, the best thing to use is baking soda.  It’s an oder neutraliser and is great from shining stainless steel and counters.  The solution should be used with a clean sponge and wiped.

Heavy Duty Scrub

Ingredients:
 
  • 1/2 a lemon
  • Sonnet Scouring Powder
Rust stains on porcelain or sinks and bathtubs are no match for this cleaner. Dip the lemon into the Sonnet Scouring Powder and scrub the surface, then rinse. (This is not safe for marble or granite.)

Baking soda.

Baking soda is a great way to combat bad odors, but it can also be used as a surprisingly effective cleaner around your home by making a paste with baking soda and water.  Great for ovens.

Vinegar.

The acid cuts through grease and grime while killing harmful bacteria.

Salt.

Salt is an abrasive makes it a perfect tool for tackling spills and stains on hard surfaces.

Lemon juice.

Lemons are an excellent all-natural cleaning product. By cutting a lemon in half you can use it to scrub away stains on countertops, cutting boards, and other surfaces.
